Brighton to London commuters have reacted angrily to pictures of Jeremy Corbyn ‘lording it over them’ in his own private bit of floor space on a Virgin train.
Jamie Palmer, who takes the 7:04am from Brighton to London five days a week, contacted the bulletin after seeing the picture. Jamie said, ‘I just couldn’t believe my eyes what gives one of the top politicians in this country the right to special treatment. He had his own bit of floor he could read the paper I would give my left bollock for space like that.’
Jenny Robson who also travels to and from London daily was equally upset, ‘I can’t remember the last time I saw the floor of a Southern train let alone had the opportunity to park my arse down on it. I don’t know much about politics but that little beardy fella doesn’t know how lucky he is. He is living the dream!’ she said.
The horror commute has been highlighted numerous times in previous weeks with strikes, delayed and cancelled trains causing havoc. Matt Morley who travels in from Hove told us about some of the journeys he has had to endure, ‘Mr Corbyn is a lucky man. One journey was so packed my feet didn’t touch the ground the whole way from Hove to London Bridge, I often have to lie down in the overhead baggage bit just so I can get some space. On one trip there was 6 of us all crammed into the toilet with people coming in and out doing their morning business it was disgusting. If Jezza thinks he has it bad he should try spending an hour in a toilet after Big Phil from Barnham has just laid a cable, then he would have a reason to moan.’
Both Southern and Mr Corbyn declined to comment.
